Grand Canyon National Park

One mile deep, 277 river miles long and up to 18 miles wide, the Grand Canyon was carved by the Colorado River millions of years ago. Breathtaking views are seen by nearly 4.5 million visitors annually at the popular South Rim which is open year-round. Fewer park-goes see spectacular views from the North Rim which is only 10 miles across the canyon but requires a 220 mile drive.
